Under the terms of a recent settlement, a Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar chain agreed to pay $80,000 to two former employees who were allegedly harassed and discriminated against in the workplace.
Marta Yolanda Elias Garcia, Francisca Elizabeth Carrillos Lopez, and several other female Hispanic workers complained to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) about unwanted sexual advances they were allegedly subjected to while working at Kobe Steak House. In addition to the $80,000 payment, Kobe Steak House also agreed to institute mandatory anti-discrimination training sessions.
