A 44 year old Canadian dancer has filed an age discrimination suit after she was fired from her job allegedly due to her age. On the same day that she was fired, another dancer who was about the same age was fired as well.

The place of employment fired both women on the same day. The 44 year old was told that the business was going for a “younger look” and that her time was up at the location.

While there is some truth to the idea that there is an age limit on dance, the fired dancer alleges that success is about attitude and personality, as well as looks. She maintains that with her personality and attitude, she could have been successful for 3 or maybe even 4 more years.

She is currently employed at a rival Toronto business

Jan Chapman, a former HR Executive at Dell, along with three other former co-workers, is bringing a $500 million discrimination lawsuit against her former employer.

According to Chapman and the three other plaintiffs, Dell frequently passed these women over for well-deserved promotions and gave better job opportunities to younger male employees.

The plaintiffs complained that working at Dell was like working in a “boys club”, and that career advancement was much more difficult for women than men.

A spokesperson from Dell denied that these women received any kind of discriminatory treatment, insisting that “Dell is an equal opportunity company”.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (or EEOC) has filed a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit in Phoenix against Highspeed Enterprise, a company that owns several Subway restaurants.

The case was filed on behalf of Belinda Murillo who applied for a position at one of Highspeed Enterprise’s Subway restaurants. According to Murillo, during her interview she was asked directly if she were pregnant. When she answered “yes” to this question, she was told by the store’s manager that he had been instructed by the store’s owner to not hire anyone who was pregnant.

Subway responded by saying that it did not support discriminatory hiring practices, and that it was trying to solve a misunderstanding and had offered Murillo a job twice, which she declined both times.

Two farms in Oregon are being sued by the federal Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC) for their alleged inability to aid women facing sexual harassment at work.

Two women who worked at Schiemer Farms in Nyssa, Oregon claimed that they faced sexually harassed at work by the men they worked with. According to Bill Tamay, an attorney with the EEOC, the farm’s management did nothing to stop sexual harassment on these farms and fired the two women involved in this suit after they complained about being harassed.

Additionally, the EEOC is suing Wilcox Farms in Aurora, Oregon on behalf of another woman who claims that she was harassed and grabbed by her supervisor, leading her to quit her job.

Neither farm has commented on the charges.

If you or someone you know has been the victim of sexual harassment, contact Los Angeles sexual harassment lawyer Perry Smith today at 888-356-2529 today to schedule an appointment with an experienced employment lawyer.
